Ask Angel:
Fit for YOU!
Hi Ladies, I am so thrilled to share my Fitness Pro Status with you in this blog and also giving you a bit of Universal fitness scoop!
After an 18 hour flight, strict dieting, hard “Rocky-style” training, competing on the world’s biggest fitness stage with all MY favourite athletes next to me, meeting up with Oxygen Magazine and doing photo shoots with the world’s most well-known “photogs”...I am thrilled to be back in MY country and be able to share my journey to Fitness Pro Status with you!
Picture this...competitors such as Diana Chaloux Le Certe, Miryah Jade Scott, Chady Dunmore. Or let me break it down for you...the competition that Mrs. Jennifer Nicole Lee won numerous times. Obi Obadike, Rob Riches...and just in short being on stage with the best of the best! Not a qualifier ladies, the WORLD’S in Canada!!!
Myself and Jacques were so humbled for being invited to compete at this glamorous show, the WBFF. The stage is bigger, the lighting better and the audience filled with fitness fury! I can honestly say this was my “wow” moment in all my years of competing. The Superbowl of fitness, if you will.
Ok so let’s get down to some backstage scoop (you know that’s what you are most interested in!). Most ladies flew their personal trainers, stylists and PR managers in for the show to assist them 24/7. What? That was a first for me! So you can imagine our surprise for placing so well amongst these world class athletes. We were blessed and I think that about sums it up!

My Pro Lesson learned:
THIS SPORT IS VERY SUBJECTIVE, never be hard on yourself for not placing where you wanted to. Take for instance track; the best individual on that day simply has the fastest running time. Contrary to this, on a fitness stage you have 10 individuals judging you on their personal outlook as to what a perfect physique should look like. Yes, there are specific judging points and keep in mind that on a World stage the competitors all look ridiculously perfect and similar, thus the results boil down to personal preference. My advice will remain to compete with yourself and be healthy for you, that’s the whole point right!?
You all probably want to know what my first cheat victory meal was after the show, right? This is no secret...Pizza! Yes I did!!! I allow myself the gift of being human every once in a while.
I was once again reminded that you need to be fit for you. Not for fame, not for anything else but for you, for your health and for your own personal victory in life!
Live victoriously, and live for YOU!
Yours in health;
Angel
